Custom Design Process
If you’d like to personalize a house sign from the collections, you can do so directly from the product page by filling in the required options (name or number, size, hanging option and font).
For fully custom designs created from your own idea, the process below explains how we’ll work together step by step.
Every custom house sign begins with an idea.
Sometimes it’s very clear, sometimes it’s just a feeling, a word, or a place that matters.
My role is to help you shape that idea into a balanced, meaningful design, interpreted by hand and created specifically for your home.
This process is guided, personal and never rushed. You don’t need to have everything figured out before reaching out.
Step 1 – Sharing your idea
Every custom sign starts with a conversation.
You can share your idea, inspiration or reference images, whether you have a clear vision or just a feeling you want to translate into a design.
It can be a house name, a family name, a special place or a detail that matters to you.
This first step is about understanding the atmosphere you want your sign to express.
Step 2 – Interpreting the design
Based on your idea, I work on the layout, proportions, lettering style and decorative elements.
This is where experience and interpretation come together.
My goal is not to copy a reference, but to transform your inspiration into a balanced and harmonious design that works on porcelain plaque and will last over time.
Step 3 – Hand painting on porcelain
Once the design is defined, the sign is entirely hand painted on premium Italian porcelain.
Each brushstroke is done freehand, following traditional ceramic techniques.
No two signs are ever exactly the same.
This is what makes every custom piece truly unique.
Step 4 – Kiln firing for lasting beauty
After painting, the sign is kiln fired at high temperature.
This process permanently sets the colors into the porcelain, making the sign suitable for outdoor use in all weather conditions.
Step 5 – Finishing, quality check and shipping
The firing is a crucial step that gives the sign its final depth, brilliance and durability.
Before shipping, each sign is carefully inspected to ensure quality, balance and finish.
Once approved, it is safely packaged and shipped to its new home.
From idea to delivery, every step is handled personally in my studio.
